Fayose Dethroned!!! Ekiti Election Results
The outcome of the Ekiti Elections should not come as a surprise. Fayose bit the tail of the tiger. The ruling party does not stand for freedom of speech. As a result during home stretch, 30,000 police officers and security forces flooded Ekiti State for the elections. This was war, and Fayose Dethroned. With the number of killings in Jos, Benue, and other states in the North, the current government fails woefully in securing our people. But to stay in power, there is no stone left unturned to oppress the Nigerian people.
The police assaulted Fayoshe and locked him up at home as PDP ate the humble pie. The ruling party rigged the election. I believe so because rigging has to do with the buying of elections, and limited security of the ballot boxes, which were some of the concerns that election observers like YIAGA highlighted.
Fortunately, the Vote Not Fight Campaign was very successful because violent incidences were at an all time low. Fayose was unable to mobilize his thugs to fight back on the rigging taking place. The ruling party, APC worked to take over the government in Ekiti state. From my understanding, the ruling party spent NGN18 billion on this election. I honestly hope that the ruling party leaves some of our foreign reserves for infrastructure development and jobs. From the look of things, they may empty the treasury for the national elections.
From analysis and speculation, the government may jail Fayose on corruption charges since there is no successor to hide his looting of state funds. If that is the case, he better run out of the country as soon as possible. That is the typical response of our leaders to save their butts. If the ruling government can arrest Dino Melaye, Fayose is someone they would eat for lunch!
All the same, I would like to congratulate Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on his victory. I hope he does not end up like the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Bello and pay staff salaries. The ruling party does not have a solid reputation for good governance except for Lagos state. The Governor loves his state; he is not perfect but Lagos is working. People of Ekiti state…you were rock stars. You turned out and exercised your civic duty. Not to worry the people spoke, which is what is important to Transform Nigeria.
