2018 Goals as a Nigerian
2018 Goals as a Nigerian
Finally!!! Christmas is over and the festivities of the season are coming to a close. As we eat our left overs and get ready for the new year, how are we reflecting on the year 2017? Have we conducted a self SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis? What went well this year? What could we do better? Did we meet our 2017 goals? What are the things we can transition into 2018? What are your 2018 Goals as a Nigerian? There different areas of our lives we need to reflect on to know how we are progressing through this journey called life.
Personal and Professional Goals
What makes us the most superior beings in the animal kingdom is our ability to will things into existence. As we reflect on things we did in 2017, in our careers, school, or businesses, how did we do? Did we get the desired promotion, did we get that job, did we do well in school and get good grades? What about our businesses, did we start when we said we would? Did we start gaining revenue? What about our family relationships? Did we spend more time with our spouses, children, parents, and siblings? What about our friendships, did we invest more in those relationships? Did we gain new friends and mentors to help us along the way? These are areas we need to reflect on as we are eating leftover foods and drinks. Most of us miss this part of the journey called life in creating future goals.
The year 2018 is going to be an awesome year!!! I just believe it with all of my being. If we set our goals and work our buts off to achieve, the universe is ours for the taking. We can will things to being and take dominion. People who are successful do not have two heads; they understand who they are and what they have to offer, and do the needful to get it. What about you?
Right now, Nigeria is going through a lot with the fuel scarcity, corruption, and bad governance. In 2018 many politicians will be making lofty promises I am not sure they will fulfill. Political parties are assembling to take over power or their piece of it. It is up to us to create the Nigeria we desire in 2018, ensure you register and collect your PVCs (Permanent Voters Cards) so that your voice is being heard. In the Anambra election, only 21% of registered voters actually went out to vote. It is important that as you are creating your 2018 goals as a Nigerian, understand that the people who rule us influence our outcomes. We need grit and perseverance in spite of the challenges in Nigeria. However, it is important to also care about democracy and good governance to make it easier to reach our goals.
In order to Transform Nigeria, we need to be visionaries and create goals for our lives. As you create your 2018 goals as a Nigerian, ensure you embrace gratitude for what was done for you in 2017. Guess what? You are still here in spite of external challenges. Let us forge forward, create our goals and take dominion in 2018. Good Luck!!!
