There are 12 celebrities of Christmas Monalisa Chinda who have used their talents to give back to society. Transform Nigeria wants to showcase celebrities who are also philanthropists in 2017.  Nigerian Celebrities have the visibility to give back to the country.  We are going to showcase some of them that are gifted and give back to society.  Christmas time is a season of giving so we are going to show case from 12 now to one on Christmas day.

7.  Monalisa Chinda

Monalisa Chinda was born and bred in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Young Mona attended primary and secondary school in Port Harcourt.  She obtained a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Port Harcourt.  Monalisa Chinda  was discovered whilst still in the University in the movie titled Pregnant Virgin in 1996.   After graduation in 2000, she featured in another movie titled Above the Law.  Monalisa became a star in 2007 when she started appearing on the television soap opera ‘Heaven’s Gate’.  In 2011, she debuted as Executive Producer in the Royal Arts Academy movie, ‘Kiss & Tell’, which was co- produced by Emem Isong and directed by Desmond Elliott.  Monalisa became one of the first of four Nollywood actors to be featured on the cover of Hollywood Weekly Magazine in 2012.   she is also the owner of the magazine known as MONALISA.

Monalisa is involved in a lot of charity work and ambassador to different charity projects, even as she partners with NAFDAC and visits the Prisons. She is the first Slum2School Ambassador, a major charity organization making an impact in the lives of children and youth. Mona founded the Arise Monalisa Foundation.  She sponsored the education of 200 under-privileged children.  Mona has also been called to speak on domestic violence from personal experience. She is currently working on a talk-show project titled, You and I with Monalisa. Her aim is to to see the end of domestic violence in our society.  She also plans to provide a platform for other women who have gone through domestic violence.
